The Darwish Group is one of the largest
group of companies in Qatar. It has been instrumental
in the country's commercial development.
The group commenced operations in
1911, as a local agent providing the labour force,
accommodation, communication, transportation and other
services to premier oil and mining exploration companies
in Qatar.
Behind this auspicious start were
the visionary brothers - Kassem, Abdulla and Abdul
Rahman - sons of Darwish Fakhro.
Soon, with Qatar witnessing unprecedented
heights of economic growth, the company diversified
into a spectrum of industrial activities, including
contracting, building, imports and general trading
of international products, in oil & gas, manufacturing,
travel & tourism as well as the hospitality industry.
This led to the birth of Darwish Trading Company,
under the able guidance and management and ownership
of Kassem Darwish Fakhro.
Kassem Darwish Fakhro also emerged
as one of the most prominent businessmen and renowned
philanthropist in the Gulf region. He, along with
his sons, continued to develop the company and expand
its activities until the rise of KDS (The Darwish
Group) in 1971.
Since then, the group has witnessed progressive and
dynamic growth, keeping pace with world class technology
and at the forefront of innovation in Qatar hrough
its various business units and affiliates.
With the sad demise of its illustrious
founder in 1992, the ownership passed on to his sons,
Nasser Jassem Darwish and Hasan Jassem Darwish, who
were authorized by their brothers Ahmed, Salman, Khalil,
Abdullah, Hamad and Ali.
Today, the The Darwish Group is committed
to fulfill its customer's requirements, to assure
quality and professionalism throughout its operations,
as a consequence of which the deep and intimate local
knowledge built up over the years by the group should
be of interest to any company wishing to do business
in the area.
Darwish Group also has
